What happened
Apple reports fiscal fourth-quarter results (the quarter to September). Consensus is revenue of about $113.2–113.4 billion, 10.5–10.7% above $102.46 billion a year ago, and earnings of about $1.99 a share against $1.85 (TipRanks, MarketPulse). Management had guided to revenue growth of 9–11% and a gross margin of 47–48%, which implies roughly $111.7–113.7 billion; MarketPulse notes the consensus sits near the top of that range, so simply meeting guidance may not surprise. The quarter includes the first sales of the iPhone 18 Pro; iPhone revenue was $54.25 billion in the previous quarter, up about 22%. Apple closed Friday at $344.63 (−1.2%), 27.5% above a year ago on our data; TipRanks shows an average analyst target of $338.28 (14 Buy, 11 Hold, 4 Sell).
Palantir reports third-quarter results. The company guided to revenue of $2.160–2.164 billion, and TipRanks puts consensus at $2.18 billion, up 84.7% on a year ago. Consensus earnings per share are $0.33 on Nasdaq data (via Stock Titan) and $0.41 at TipRanks, against $0.18–0.21 a year earlier – the sources differ. TipRanks shows an average target of $218.95 (18 Buy, 4 Hold, 2 Sell), 11.5% above the price it used. Options traders are pricing a move of about 13% (TipRanks), while Investing.com cites about 10%. After the second-quarter report on 3 August the shares rose 12% (CNBC).
The rest of the week: AMD reports on Tuesday, Uber and Qualcomm on Wednesday and Airbnb on Thursday (Stock Titan). Everything here is an expectation: the results will only be known after the close.
